GM TH350 Transmission Transfer Case Adapter for 1974-1980 Toyota Land Cruisers

This transfer case adapter is designed to mount a 1974-1980 Toyota Land Cruiser 16-Spline Transfer Case to a General Motors Turbo-Hydramatic 350 Transmission. The TH350 adapter to the Land Cruiser 16 spline transfer case is 5.250″ in length. And the overall length of the transmission and adapter is 26.94″. The adapter material is 356 T6 heat treated aluminum alloy. The adapter kit includes an adapter housing, 16 spline spud shaft, new TH350 output shaft, transfer case shifter bracket, sealed bearing, gaskets, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.

Transfer Case: This adapter assembly fits 1974 to July 1980 16-Spline Transfer Cases. The drive gear has 16 internal splines and a diameter of 1.259″. The transfer case bolt pattern is the same as the earlier 3 speed transfer cases.

Transmission: This adapter kit is designed for exclusive use with the GM TH350 automatic transmission. This GM automatic was commonly found stock in vehicles from 1969-81. It was used in both pickups and car applications. The TH350 has aluminum, 1 piece case and is 21.5″ in length. It was used in both the 4WD pickups and 2WD applications. These transmissions are identical except when it comes to the output shaft stickout length. The 4WD transmission used an adapter to bolt this transmission to its stock transfer case. With this adapter removed, the stock output shaft protrudes from the back of the transmission case approximately 1″. On 2WD vehicles, these transmissions used 3 different tailhousings. The lengths of these tailhousings are 6″, 9″, and 12″. The output shafts lengths correspond with these tailhousing lengths. This transmission is one of the most popular choices for engine and transmission conversions due to the overall length of 21-1/2″. The 1st gear ratio is 2.52:1; 2nd 1.52:1, and a 3rd gear ratio of 1:1.
