GM 700R4 Transmission Transfer Case Adapter to 1969-1973 10-Spline Toyota Transfer Cases
When installing a 700R4-2WD Transmission into a Land Cruiser, you have to adapt the stock Toyota 10-Spline Transfer Case. Adapter is made of 356-T6 heat treated aluminum alloy. Adapter kit includes the Adapter Housing, 10-Spline Spud Shaft, New 700R4 Output Shaft, Transfer Case Shifter Bracket, Sealed Bearings, Gaskets, Fastening Hardware, and detailed instructions. It is also recommended Transfer Case Front Output Flange to be upgraded.
Transfer Case Fitment: This adapter assembly fits 1963-73 10 spline transfer cases. The drive gear has 10 internal splines and a diameter of 1.375”. There cases are equipped with a vacuum style shifter.
Transmission Fitment: This kit is designed for exclusive use with the 2WD 700R-4 / 4L60. The overall case length of the transmission is 23.375”, has a non-removable bell housing, and a 4 bolt square rear case. This is the first automatic overdrive that GM produced. Introduced in 1982, this transmission is offered in two different bellhousing / case designs (60 & 90 degree bolt patterns). All 4.3 V6 & GM V8 installations will require the 90 degree version. The internal components of these 700Rs can be interchanged if necessary.
